Leaders Don't Quote Leaders - Personal Excellence

Leaders don't quote other people. Other people quote leaders. But leaders use quotes to inspire. So is everyone just quoting the first one?
One element of being a leader is the ability to explain complex ideas simply. This sometimes involves using famous quotes to get a point across.  For example, if you are leading a discussion that involves planning a project, it might be better to quote Einstein: “Make things as simple as possible, but no simpler” rather than spend time explaining the advantages of simplicity and of where to draw the line.
But leadership is not just rolling out quote after quote. If that's all you did, your followers would cry "bogus!" And flee.

Finish this thought at personal excellence.
