A New and Unique Way to Improve Your Golf Technique

If you are an avid golfer, you have tried several methods to improve your golf technique. Tried the latest improve-your-golf-swing video. Tried the latest hi-tech putter. Tried meditating, stress relief, or concentration exercises. Maybe even tried practicing more! But there is one method that you probably have not associated with golf improvement, because it doesn’t sound like it has anything to do with golf. What is this method?

Improving your fitness. Specifically, improving your golf fitness. Oh sure, being fit and in shape should have a generally positive effect on your golf game. But focusing on improving your fitness for golf will have an immediate effect on almost every part of your game.

1. Your swing will improve as your waist and shoulders become more flexible and stronger. You will be able to move in a more fluid manner. You won’t strain and you won’t try to power the ball down the fairway.

2. Your short game will benefit from increased concentration. You won’t be distracted by those little aches and pains, and that shortness of breath from hauling your clubs all over the course. You will be able to look at the putt and think only about the putt.

3. Your attitude will become more positive, as you see the changes in your weight and your overall health. Improving your health and fitness will help you have better self esteem.

4. Your desire will increase, as your muscles are stretched and become more flexible. You will simply feel better physically when you finish each round.

The problem with the way you are playing is that each of your movements is probably a compensation for your body’s inability to perform that golf action easily. For example, how many “adjustments” have you made to your swing, simply because you can’t swing your shoulders back to the proper form, and forward fast and smoothly enough? How much of your putting game is simply getting the ball close enough to the hole to tap it in, because you can’t hold your concentration enough to tap it in from farther out?

Focusing on and improving your golf fitness might be just the secret method to improve your golf technique. Want lower scores? Want form and style that is the envy of the rest of your foursome? Focus on your golf fitness, the quickest route to golf improvement.

7 Tips For Stress Management At Work

What would work be without stress? Pretty unsuccessful! Stress at work lets you know that you are challenging your own limits, when you are pushing beyond your own limits, like when you push yourself to finish a project before the deadline. Stress also wears down your physical and emotional systems. So stress management strategies are sought after by everyone.

Stress management and anxiety reduction in the workplace is used by most people to relieve the physical symptoms of anxiety attacks, which cause you to lose days off sick. It also allows you to focus on the many problems that arise on the job, and battle the stressor that is causing the anxiety. And it is only by eliminating the stressor that you can finally end the headaches, feeling of nervousness, and constant chest tightness from anxiety that is so harmful to you.

Let’s look at seven tips for stress management at work:
1. Identify whether your stress is real or imagined. In other words, if there are no tangible consequences to ignoring the stressor, then it is imagined stress and can be ignored.
2. If it is real stress, use creative problem solving to think of as ways to attack it other than your body’s “fight or flight” reaction. The bad health effects of stress are most often caused by this reaction.
3. Engage as many people as possible to help you. By sharing the burden, you lighten the load – and the stress – on you.
4. Make sure your management is aware of what you are doing. This eliminates the stress of doubt about how your work will be received.
5. Set this as a priority high enough to allow you to reject non-priority tasks and interruptions.
6. Take one concrete specific action toward step 1 of your first goal.
7. Assess the results.

While these 7 tips sound pretty common-sense, actually doing them is far from common-place. And performing them under stress is even rarer. Many run-of-the-mill stress management systems are built around one or two techniques, like deep breathing or meditating. But these seven tips for stress management, all performed by you under stress, are your ticket to comprehensive stress management and anxiety reduction in the workplace.

Be sure to talk to your doctor about other ways to reduce the physical symptoms of anxiety attacks. Medications or therapies may be necessary for some people. And, of course, you must be aware that the constant chest tightness from anxiety that you have might unfortunately be a heart attack! So consult with your doctor before and during any stress or anxiety situation.

5 Ways To Handle The Physical Symptoms Of High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure can lead to heart attacks, stroke, and death. You should have your blood pressure checked by a doctor on a regular basis. If the doctor prescribes medication, you should take it as prescribed. The main reason for having your blood pressure checked by a doctor is that there are very few physical symptoms of high blood pressure. And the ones you do see are often confused with other causes.
Some of these symptoms are: headache, dizziness, blurred vision, drowsiness, and nausea. All of these can be explained by some other cause. Sometimes people are under stress so long that they can’t distinguish the bad health effects of stress anymore. Which means that the high blood pressure is left untreated, and ti gets worse. And stress elevates blood pressure. But you can use aggressive stress management techniques to handle the stress, and lower your blood pressure.
Here are 5 ways to aggressively attack stress to lower your blood pressure:
1. Use creative problem solving to handle stress better. The natural reaction to stress is “fight or flight.” You can creatively come up with more solutions.
2. Use meditation appropriately. Meditating can relieve some of the inner effects of stress and make you feel better. But it does nothing to eliminate the stress. Use meditation to not only calm yourself down, but open your mind to creative possibilities.
3. Develop your own stress management process. Any stress management system that you learn was developed by someone else for someone else’s problems. Take the techniques that work from each system and create your own.
4. Stay in shape. Stress weakens the various systems of your body, which gives you less energy to fight the stress. By staying in shape, you can fight the stress, not just tolerate it.
5. Use an effective time management system. Stress from impossible deadlines is bad. Stress from interruptions is worse. But having a time management system that not only permits, but demands, that you reject time-wasting interruptions, can relieve much stress in your life.
If you don’t do handle stress, your high blood pressure will get worse. But knowing what to do to relieve stress can help lower your blood pressure. With the lower blood pressure, you can reduce the chances of heart attack or stroke. Of course, there are other causes of those conditions that also must be looked at. But removing stress as a cause can focus your efforts.
Handling stress involves internally handling your reactions, but also externally eliminating the stressor. Using this dual approach might be the most effective way to reduce or eliminate the signs symptoms of panic attacks and lower your blood pressure. Probably meditation or visualization is part of what you are doing to relieve stress. But this is not enough. That’s like helping a quarterback learn not to feel bad when he throws an interception. Wouldn’t it be better to teach the quarterback to simply not throw interceptions? Using a comprehensive stress management system will eliminate the stress and give you lower blood pressure.

Picture your life when stress is not a concern and where you are the leader in stressful situations. To see exactly how you can do this, go to What to do to relieve stress. STRESS JUDO was developed by Rick Carter, a trial lawyer and martial artist. The courtroom has emotional and intellectual stress, and the dojo and fight ring has physical and psychological stress. 5 Ways To Be Better Looking And Manage Anxiety Attacks By Managing Stress And Time

Your looks are suffering from not using time management properly to manage stress. Those dark circles under your eyes from lack of sleep? That recent weight gain from fast-food dinners and not working out? Shortness of breath from panic attacks? This is caused not only by the stress, but by not having the time to actually address and get rid of the stress. And it’s not just workplace anxiety that needs to have time managed. Every area of your life demands your time. Every area of your life has stress. Every area of your life suffers if the stress overwhelms the time you have.
Using aggressive time management can relieve help these problems. Managing your time in the face of stress helps you stay on your diet or your fitness routine. This goes a long way towards managing the physical symptoms of anxiety attacks. Having a stress management system that uses time management to force time to be healthy will actually make fighting stress all the easier.

Here are 5 ways to use time to stay focused on health in the face of stress:
1. Make time for fitness and diet priorities over distractions. By utilizing aggressive scheduling, you can say “no” to time wasting distractions, and schedule them to be addressed at the proper time.
2. Be accurate in your scheduling. Don’t put aside 20 minutes for the 20 minute workout, if it takes 30 minutes to get to the gym and 30 minutes to change.
3. Delegate non-priority tasks. If the task can be done by someone else, assign it to them. Just don’t give the perception that they are doing it so you can go workout! Do it tactfully.
4. Set aside time for planning. Too much stress is caused by reacting to situations. By setting aside time to analyze and plan, you save time in the long run.
5. Rearrange your workout schedule. Maybe move it from early morning to after work. Or from daily to 4 times per week.

If you don’t do set aside time for your health, the answer to “how does stress affect health” will be “worse and faster.” The signs symptoms of panic attacks can cause many health problems. If the stress is allowed to take up your working out time, the stress will affect your health much worse. Which will reduce your ability to fight stress. Which will make the stress worse. And so on. And so on. It may be difficult to get your time under control. It’s a lot harder trying to get your time under control in a stressful situation and feeling lousy about it.

Time management is an integral part of what to do to relieve stress. Too often, it is presented as the solution to stress management. Granted, it is a large part of the solution. But this is not enough. That’s like saying sticking to your diet will eliminate anxiety attacks. It will make them easier. But it won’t make them go away. And it won’t let you find the opportunities that lie in every stressful situation. Using a comprehensive stress management system which includes time management throughout will eliminate the bad effects of stress on your physical appearance and actually make you better looking!

5 Steps To Manage Stress And Anxiety Attacks By Self Examination

The physical symptoms of anxiety attacks can be devastating. The shortness of breath. The feeling of terror and panic. The high blood pressure, chest pains, and headaches. And nothing you are doing is preventing these attacks. You react to stress with panic and anxiety. This is not good, is it?
Having a strict self examination or self assessment tool to see how effectively you are dealing with stress can be the best way to manage stress and prevent panic attacks. By using self examination to alleviate or prevent the panic, you will in fact be better looking! Those dark circles under your eyes from lack of sleep will disappear. That weight gain from not attending to your diet will melt away. Your smile will return.
Here are 5 ways to use self examination to manage stress and eliminate panic and anxiety attack symptoms:
Know your emotional and intellectual strengths. Know the internal resources you have to draw on, to attack stress. Use frequent self-examination to see what strengths are most effective in different situations.
Know your emotional and intellectual weaknesses. Know what internal resources will let you down, and therefore what ones you should avoid calling on. Set your ego aside and realistically see what areas you are weak in and need to improve, especially under stress.
Know what other people are judging you on. Seriously. You are being judged all the time, especially at work. This can add to your feeling of workplace anxiety, over and above the normal deadline and overwork stresses.
Be aware of your specific personal goals. In any stressful situation, you have to deal with the goals set by many people around you. Knowing your goals will eliminate that internal stress that occurs when you finish a project and feel unsatisfied because you reached someone else’s goals.
Know the tasks you should be delegating to others. Taking on the wrong work is probably more stressing than taking on too much work. By self-examination, you will know what tasks you need to delegate and therefore not put stress on yourself.

If you don’t do self-examination concerning how you handle stress on a regular basis, you will continue to suffer anxiety attacks. And they will continue and they will get worse. This is because you have no knowledge of how to react to stressful situation, because you have no idea of how you react to stress. Your looks will just spiral downhill, as you eat stress foods, stop working out, and lose sleep. You think it will be painful to set up a plan of self examination. It will be much more painful not to.

Self-examination is an integral part of a comprehensive stress management system. Probably looking for the signs symptoms of panic attacks is part of what you are doing to relieve stress. But this is not enough. That’s like a football coach charting out the opposing teams; defense, but not figuring out how to defeat it. Using a comprehensive stress management system which includes self-examination throughout, will eliminate those side effects that harm your looks and make you better looking.

Stress Hurts. Using Creative Problem Solving To Achieve Recognition At Work Helps.

Nothing good happens in your life if you can’t tap into your creative problem solving to eliminate stress, especially in the workplace. You don’t get the promotions you are due. You don’t get the recogniti0on you should. Your motivation in the workplace, and at home, and everywhere else – suffers.. And so far, nothing you’ve been doing – especially to combat stress – has done anything the change this.
But creative problem solving is the key to handling stress. Using creative problem solving not only attacks stress, but can be used in other areas to make you stand out at work. Workplace anxiety is replaced with workplace enthusiasm and leadership. You can learn creative problem solving very easily, by using a few exercises and practicing it daily. This can eliminate the pain caused by lack of recognition because as you gain control of how you handle stress, you gain the attention – in a positive way – of management.
Here are 5 ways to use creative problem solving to handle stress in the workplace:
Define the problem or stressor better. By having a clear definition of the situation, the solution may be obvious, thus eliminating stress.
Define the goals to be achieved in detail. This will focus your efforts, so there is no stress of wasted effort. It wil also help you know when you are done, so you can eliminate the stress of always working on something.
Be free to brainstorm. Many people are reluctant to voice an idea, because other people may not think much of it. Since a key starting point of creative problem solving is to get as many ideas as possible on the table initially, you are free to out forth your wildest ideas.
Gives you more options than just “fight or flight.” It is this reaction that causes all the negative effects of stress. By having more options, your body does not go into that state right away.
Get other people on board early. Another big cause of stress is having all the responsibility fall on your shoulders. By asking others to participate in creative problem solving of the situation. They may be more invested and easier to convince when - later on - you ask them to help out.
If you don’t develop your creative problem solving skills, your status as “turned down again” will get worse. This is because you have not done anything to stand out, to separate yourself from jhe pack at work. Other people who do show some – any – creativity will be promoted ahead of you, whether they deserve it more than you or not. The bad health effects of stress will get worse, because your body will go into “fight or flight” reaction mode much quicker, over much smaller stressors. You may think you don’t have creative problem solving skills. But ignoring the skills you do have will be much worse.
Creative problem solving is an integral part of a comprehensive stress management system. You probably have already attended seminars or read books on stress management. And they may talk about creative ways to handle stress. But that is not enough. That’s like having the coach tell you how to deal with the pain of striking out, instead of having the coach improve your hitting skills. Once you get your hitting up, you have to deal with the pain of striking out much less often. Using a comprehensive stress management system which includes creative problem solving throughout will eliminate missing out on promoti0ons and give you raises and recognition at work.

Have You Ever Wondered Where They Get The Energy?

It really is incredible when you see these 50 - 60 - even 70 year old politicians, jetting around the country, making 4 or 5 campaign stops in the same day. And going to all the public meetings and rallies. And taking all those payo- ummm, well... meeting all those lobbyists. Where DO they find the energy?
But that's not really the question, is it? You don't much care how THEY can put in 12 and 14 hour days, 6 days a week, for months on end. You care how YOU can learn how to do that. Because THAT is most likely to get you promoted or get a raise or even keep youir job when others are being laid off.
For more information on tapping into your internal energy, click What to do to relieve stress.

Secret To Getting Promoted Is Staying In Shape Even When Stressed

Have you ever noticed that the people at work who handle stress the best also tend to be in good fitness? Maybe they don't have six-pack abs or bounce around like a cheerleader at the Final Four, but they generally are in good shape. Make the connection: being in shape is fundamental to what to do to relieve stress.
And how does stress affect health? Stress wears down the body. And a worn down body gets tired quicker and loses concentration easier. These make stress harder to fight. Which makes stress harder on your body. And so on. And so on...

What To Do To Relieve Stress: Look Inside Yourself

The idea of self-examination as stress management is not taught by very many stress management systems. Learning time management in the workplace is not learning stress management in the workplace, no matter how pretty they package it. A comprehensive stress management system has self examination as an integral part of the system. This helps you learn what areas you need to work on, to handle stress in the workplace.
Self-examination though is not enough. As part of a multi-component stress management system, self-examination allows you to evaluate the effectiveness of the other components in your battle against stress. Knowing what to do to relieve stress includes knowing what tools you have, and what tools you need, to do the job right.

The effects of stress on the body are pretty well-publicized. High blood pressure. Weight gain. Pains and headaches. Heart attack, stroke, and death. The definition of stress: the silent killer. But what is really hurting you - what makes stress actually much more focused and intense - is that stress destroys your relationships. Your friendships take some of the stress burden off you. They help you with ideas to fight the stress. But subjecting your friends to each and every anxiety attack will drive them away. And breathing deep and thinking happy thoughts won't be what to do to relieve stress or save your relationships.

What To Do To Relieve Stress

What people call stress is actually your reaction to stress. This reaction is called the fight or flight reaction. This is because your mind can think of only 2 things to do when it meets a stressor: fight it or run away from it. If you had more time to analyze the stressor, you could come up with more options of what to do to relieve stress. Better ways of dealing with it. Ways that don't have the bad health effects of stress on the body.

This reaction causes many health problems and pain for you. The fight or flight reaction floods your body with hormones, adrenaline and chemicals, so your body can move quickly. Every system is put on high alert. Your heart rate and blood pressure increase. Your muscles contract. Your digestive tract goes into overdrive. Over time, these actions literally wear down your body. Not to mention the damaging effects to your emotions.

There are dozens and hundreds of stress management books, DVDs, seminars, and groups available. Most of them deal with dealing with the symptoms of your fight or flight reaction, rather than dealing with how you handle the stressor. By working only on the symptoms, these do nothing to prevent these same reactions from occurring again when the stressor reappears. They deal effectively with the question of what to do to relieve stress, but they do not remove the thing causing the stress.

A comprehensive stress management system would give you the ability to analyze a stress situation before you have to act. It would allow you to come up with more options than just fight or flight. It would strengthen your body and systems, to hold up better under stress. It would take control of time, not just manage it. And it would teach you enough about stress management that you can create your own stress management system.

This approach helps because you deal with the stressor directly. By dealing with the stressor directly, it is unlikely to occur again. Or, if it does, you will be prepared to handle it better. This approach also gives you the ability to plan for stress, to predict where it will occur and how strong it will be.
